Stuff a Kong with good stuff!

03 Sep

Wally isn’t allowed to have Kongs because rubber toys break off his facial hair (which we need bunches of), but if he COULD have a Kong I would fill it with this recipe from Miles & Emma. Way healthier than the canned cheese garbage that Kong sells!

1/3 of a can cooked pumpkin
1/2 apple shredded (no seeds)
2 pinches ground flaxseed
liquid from a can of salmon
(or other meat broth)
Mix all ingredients and stuff Kong. Serve immediately or freeze for a cool treat.

Driving up the PCH, Wally decided that he wants to be a supermodel

Oh you can totally just put it in a bowl as a treat too — Or freeze portions in an ice cube tray for longer-lasting treats. It is mushy, like grits? I wouldn’t leave it unrefrigerated for long. I vote ice cube tray!

Thumbs up! Have you tried it with Mr. Wally yet?

Sadly I can’t use Kongs since the rubber breaks facial hair, but I might try using it in some other way. Does it stay mushy or does it turn more cakey, like clay?
