Hi! Loving the blog and your Wally tales.
I’m sorry I couldn’t figure out a way to contact you otherwise. I was wondering if you could explain the different border coat colors (blue and tan, grizzle and tan, red, wheaten[??]) and maybe show a photo for each? Is Wally grizzle and tan? And what would a ‘red’ border terrier be?

The AKC has a list of the AKC-recognized colors here, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to find any pages that had images of each color. I don’t have this kind of data so I’m not able to post about it. Coloring tends to fall into a spectrum with most BT’s being grizzle & tan or wheaten. Wally is a Grizzle & Tan, and he does have a lot of black in his coat, more than most Borders. Fiona is more of a wheaten with little grizzling. The BTCOA has an illustrated standard which shows photos of the more common colors (grizzle&tan, blue&tan, red, wheaten) and is also a phenomenal resource for understanding the BT standard!
